An Aussie in Pyongyang

Aimlessly avoiding my studies tonight and ran across the latest offering from The North Korea Zone (possibly one of the best DPRK commentaries on the net, check out the names on the list of contributors and be impressed). It’s basically a list of travelogues from the recent Arirang Games and offers a great first-hand insight into the world of the North.

The Korean Machine

This is a post inspired by the latest offering from Asia Pages and aims to deal with my current opinions as regards some aspects of Korean culture, in so far as I’ve experienced them over the past 10 or so months living here, namely the heirarchical nature of life and the, for me, incongruous manner in which many Koreans hold significant distaste for their ‘lot’ but are at the same time content to accept it as inevitable.
